The Bee and Thistle photo shoot...

Following are pictures from a photo shoot organized by My Kate Parker Weddings in July of 2010, in Olde Lyme, Connecticut, www.beeandthistleinn.com.

I would like to thank,

My amazing photographer, Candace Jeffery Photography, www.candacejefferyphotography.com; my great friend, Terri Algernot, a talented wedding planner, www.sbsnevents@aol.com, and owner of a new venture, where she can put her expertise to work for brides for destination weddings, who was instrumental in helping me to gather all of the product needed to fulfill my "vision"; and my daughter Courtney, who is truly amazing and talented, and who we really could not have done without!

Terri visited the site and immediately conveyed to me that she thought the outdoors was the way to go, she spotted a truly lovely side garden that did become our space.  With that the, "girly girl theme" I had originally toyed with soon became the "English Garden"...following is an excerpt from an e-mail that I had sent during the "creating phase":

Okay, I have been sleeping on this, and yes, the muse is the periwinkle twister pattern...is there a more english color than periwinkle? The English Garden theme is a go, but what I want to do is to give it that eclectic charm that is England to our shoot. Where else, but in places like England, do you see such contrast as castles, bone china and sterling silver, with the charm of a thatch roof, moss, bramble and stone all blending and playing off each other so well? So that leads me to the concept. We are mixing the very classic with the most simple of elements.

....and that is what we did, with the sky as the "ceiling" and the tall unique trees on the propert as our backdrop, we perfected the "perfect" English Garden Wedding, with moss and stone and lush flowers, and crystal and bone china...and THISTLE

Enjoy!
