I am a certified floral designer with a degree from Rittner's School of Floral Design. I have worked in the flower industry since 1991.
I have done weddings and events in such venues as the Cambridge Hyatt, The Viking Hotel in Newport, The Fuller Craft Museum, a tent wedding on a private estate in Falmouth, Mosely's in Dedham, the Herlihy Room at Stonehill College, Raffaels in Walpole, the Endicott Estates, the Lobster Pot in Provincetown, the Bavarian Chalet in Albany, and the Beehive in Boston among others. Currently I have weddings on my calendar for the Barn at Gibbet Hill, the Winery at Nashoba Valley, the OMNI Parker House, the Quincy Marriott and Adams Inn to name a few.
I am a recent member of NEWP, New England Wedding Professionals, www.weddingnewengland.com , and am the newly named Meeting Coordinator and a member of the board. I also joined the My Kate Parker Website www.mykateparkerwedding.com for networking and to allow me the ability to provide my clients with recommendations for professionals in all aspects of events and weddings.
I worked for Cityscapes as a lead designer for holiday decorations for three years prior to 2009, also creating their showrooms for those years, and designing decor for the BOMA events at the Boston Opera House, the Park Plaza and the Liberty Hotel, and created design for the Stanhope Grill that was a part of the Jury's Hotel in Boston for a tradeshow while with them. I have worked for three local florists, decorated cakes and had been a window designer for 2 years before a promotion to Merchandising Coordinator for a woman's retail chain out of New York City right after college. I traveled extensively up and down the east coast, and as far west as Indiana, where I was responsible for orchestrating the overall design and merchandising of store openings. I ended that career when I was asked to move to New York City...too much of a Sox fan, and besides, I had already met my husband by then.
I then worked for a major general contractor wearing many hats from contracts, marketing, office management to estimating. Worked with wonderful people, but moved on to have five amazing children now 12 to 18. I have an equally amazing husband, or I would never had agreed to such chaos. Now it is time for "mom" to do what she loves fulltime, and yes, to help put those five "amazing children" through college!
I promise this. I will never take on more than allows me to do the best job I can for you. That promise is to both of us, as it truly represents who I am. I encourage my kids to give 110%, how can I expect to give you less.
I look forward to helping you make your wedding, fundraiser, shower, garden party or even your "home" as special as you dream.
I'll wait. You call.
